Dominic Power is an English actor, most recently seen working along side Tom Courtenay and Gemma Jones in the ITV drama 'UNFORGOTTEN'.
Career
Power studied Drama and Performance studies at The Miskin Theatre, Dartford, from 1992-1995, leaving for Anna Scher's Drama School, Islington, where he trained from 1996 to 1999.
Dominic then became a 'director' (teacher) at The Miskin Theatre in Dartford. He produced many shows.
Television
Power was given his first major television role in 2008, appearing as PC Leon Taylor in ITV police drama The Bill. He began appearing on screen from June 2008, alongside fellow new castings Clare Foster (PC Millie Brown) and Abhin Galeya (PC Arun Ghir). Leon was one of only three uniform officers to stay with the show until its final episode, which was aired on August 31, 2010. He appeared in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale as Cameron Murray, the lover of Debbie Dingle, whom she met in Jersey. He also appeared in The Bill as Piers Houston in 2007.
His character, Cameron Murray in Emmerdale, was responsible for the murders of three major characters - Carl King (Tom Lister), Alex Moss (Kurtis Stacey) and Gennie Sharma (Sian Reese-Williams). The character died after being electrocuted within the flood that occurred in the pub's cellar. For his role, in 2013, Power won the 'Best Bad Boy' award at the Inside Soap Awards.
In August 2014 Power appeared in the opening episodes of the second series of acclaimed crime drama Suspects on Channel 5, playing murder suspect Saul Hammond, a paranoid schizophrenic. He received critical praise for his performance. Katy Brent of The Mirror said, "The standout performance is from Dominic Power – last seen as crazy-eyed, gun-toting Cameron Murray in Emmerdale." She added, "Dominic gives a stellar performance as Saul’s mental state disintegrates, leaving him confused and questioning his own innocence. A harrowing glimpse into mental illness."
It was announced in April 2015 that Dominic had joined the cast of new ITV drama Unforgotten, playing the son of Sir Tom Courtenay and Gemma Jones' characters. He appeared on screen in the drama's first episode on October 5 2015 as Les Slater, son of Eric and Claire.
