Biography

Through her influential works, such as “Gugur Bunga”, “Beginning”, “Terima Kasihku, Guruku” and many more, Diana Susanti has been known as The New Papuan Star. Hailing from Mimika (West Papua), and living in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi (UAE) currently, Diana Susanti is driven by her passion to spread the essential love spiritual values to the world through her unique music styles. And also being an activist and entrepreneur, she is dubbed as a New Spirit from the East.

Was born in Timika (West Papua), on April 6 2003, and being raised & living in Timika where she was exposed to a diverse and multicultural environment from an early age. This upbringing instilled in her a great sense of tolerance and harmony towards others. Her natural talent in music was recognised since elementary school when she became a music conductor in her school choir team. Her teacher said that music is like within her soul, and it made Diana easily understand music, especially classical music. While others know her for her religious music, but another else know her as a talented music composer and multi-instrumentalist. From the beginning she learned from one of the local music composers, she is talented to compose her music through Piano, Violin, Santoor, and Oud.

Music for Susan (as she prefer to being called), music is an expression of Divine Love, and her work has always conveyed a profound sense of the Divine. She draws inspiration from Sayyidah Rabiatul Adawiyyah’s philosophy of Divine Love, and her music reflects her heart’s main power: Love. Given her strongly held belief that each of her music is an expression of the same essential spiritual truth, it is natural for her to turn to classical music as a means to communicate this message. Now prefers using Classical instruments such as Piano, Violin, and also Persian (and Azerbaijani) traditional instruments such as Santoor, Oud, Kamanche, and Tar, and sometimes Papuan Traditional Instruments such as Tifa, Diana’s music takes much of its structure from classical & traditional musical systems, with the launch of her new album “New Life” and “Samara”. Within this framework, the music evokes both powers in its dynamic rhythms and beauty in its interwoven melodies.

With over 950000 physical albums sold to date, the influence of Diana Susanti’s music is highly accepted and resonates throughout continents, and cannot be understated. It resonates with people all around the globe. The essential messages she conveyed through her music give voice to a huge collection of yearning for love, peace, and the Divine, and her use of global rhythm and melodies united with her spiritual vision captivates listeners worldwide. And she continues to inspire others through her music and activism.

She named her own music genre “Classiceastique”, which combines traditional and classical music styles from infamous European Classical Music to Papuan Traditional Music. In profound to keep maintaining and powering other talented local musicians, she invites many talented local musicians to Classiceastique Foundation. Oftentimes she invites so many musicians from Muslim and Christian to combine their visions. Through this effort, Diana hopes to help people from different religions recognise that the common values and the essence they hold far outweigh their differences and that this understanding can be the starting point for the journey toward a lasting peace.
