David De Buck

David De Buck (born March 14, 1979 in Ghent, Belgium) is a gallerist and art dealer and owner of De Buck Gallery in New York City. The former Swiss banker moved to New York City in 2008 to establish De Buck Gallery.

Due to his parents’ involvement in the contemporary art world, De Buck grew up personally knowing many top European artists, especially those belonging to the Nouveau réalisme movement, including Christo, Niki de Saint Phalle, Arman and César. This early exposure definitely had a significant impact on De Buck, and contributed to his interest in contemporary art.

De Buck decided to study economics and business, following the example of his grandfather, the founder of Spector International Photo Group (ticker: SPEC). After his studies, he worked in banking in Switzerland in order to gain business experience before turning his attention to art full-time.

In 2008, he found his passion and dedication lay in the arts, and he moved to New York City and founded De Buck Gallery. The Belgian gallerist is married to Danielle Stapen. They have two daughterstogether Chloe, who was born in 2010, and Sienna, born in 2012.
