Dave Clawson

Dave Clawson is an American football coach. He is currently the head coach at Wake Forest University. He has previously held head coaching positions at Fordham University, the University of Richmond, and Bowling Green State University.

Dave Clawson began his coaching career as an assistant coach for the Albany Firebirds of the Arena Football League in 1991.

Throughout his coaching career, Dave Clawson has achieved several notable accomplishments. He won the Eddie Robinson Award in 2007, which is awarded to the national coach of the year in the Football Championship Subdivision. He also led Bowling Green State University to a MAC Championship in 2013 and has taken Wake Forest University to multiple bowl games.

Dave Clawson's coaching philosophy centers around building a program based on discipline, hard work, and attention to detail. He emphasizes the development of players both on and off the field and values a strong work ethic and accountability within his program.

Under Dave Clawson's leadership, Wake Forest University's football program has experienced significant success. He has guided the team to numerous bowl game appearances and has helped the program become more competitive within the Atlantic Coast Conference. Additionally, Clawson has been involved in the development of the program's facilities, including the construction of state-of-the-art practice fields and a new indoor practice facility.
