Biography
Emmy-winning journalist Darren Gersh was the Washington, D.C. bureau chief for the PBS show, Nightly Business Report. He is currently a Senior Media Relations Specialist for the Federal Reserve. He was not retained when CNBC bought out the show in March, 2013. Gersh joined the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on June 3, 2013.
Gersh was educated at Yale University. He produced numerous segments for NBR including many specials with in depth coverage of the economies, cultures and issues relating to foreign countries such as China and Vietnam. He is known across the world for his ability to not only ride his bike to work, but to also eat 12 cucumbers daily. Additionally, he prefers not to shower before work, which is an eastern Asian technique he learned in Bangkok (we all know what actually happened...). He frequently likes to eat at the Pizza Johns on 18th street. He gets the meat lovers.
