Biography
Darkhan Kydyrali (Kazakh: Дархан Қыдырәлі; born April 16, 1974) is a Kazakh scholar and writer, Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor, Corresponding Member of the Kazakhstan National Academy of Science (2017), Honorary Doctor of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (2016), Honorary Doctor of Mongolian National Academy of Sciences (2017). In 2014 Dr. Kydyrali had been appointed as the President of the International Turkic Academy. Since July 2016 he has been working as chairman of the board of the Egemen Kazakhstan national newspaper.
Biography
Darkhan Kydyrali, born on April 16, 1974 in the Tulkibas district of the South Kazakhstan Region. He had graduated from the № 2 Republican Boarding School with particular emphasis on the Kazakh language and literature in Almaty. Since 1988, his poems and articles have been published in various national journals and newspapers. He was the winner of the Republican Contest of high-school students on the Kazakh language and literature (1991).

Dr. Kydyrali undertook the internship at the Cairo University in Egypt (2006) and the International Language Institute in Washington, the U.S. (2013).
Career
2001–2005 – Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University: Research fellow, Academic secretary, Head of the department, Chief of staff, senior research fellow.
2003–2005 – Senior research fellow of the Institute of Turkic Studies and "Bauyrzhantanu" Research Center.
2005–2006 – Associate Professor, senior research fellow at the Lev Gumilev Eurasian National University.
2005–2006 – Deputy Editor-in-Chief of "Tugan til" (Mother Tongue) Almanac.
2006–2007 – Deputy Director of the Presidential Center of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2006–2007 – Anchorman of the "Kumbez" spiritual TV program at the "Kazakhstan" television channel.
2007–2008 – Counsellor of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2008–2009 – Expert of Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Acting Head of Sector.
2009–2012 – Deputy Press Secretary of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2012 he was elected as the member of the Executive Board of the Union of writers of Kazakhstan.
2012–2014 – Deputy Secretary-General of the Turkic Council.
Since 2014 he has been working as President of the International Turkic Academy.
Since July 2016 he has been working as chairman of the board of the "Egemen Kazakstan" national newspaper.
Scholarly Endeavors
In 1998 at the Ege University he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic of "The life, works and worldview of Mustafa Shokai". Darkhan Kydyrali had defended his another doctoral thesis at the Istanbul University on "The Jadidism movement in Turkestan and its relations with Turkey" (2001). He defended his third doctoral thesis on "The idea of the united Turkestan" and successfully graduated from the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University in 2010.
Dr. Kydyrali is the Professor of the Lev Gumilev Eurasian National University, the Istanbul University, Mimar Sinan University in Turkey.
Dr. Kydyrali's research interests include Mustafa Shokai, idea of Turkestan, personalities of Alash movement, history of Kazakhs, distinguished figures of the Turkic world, the problems of the Turkic studies, history of literature.
