Daniela Ambrosoli (born November 10, 1941 in Ascona) is a Swiss entrepreneur, philanthropist, founder and president of the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation, and film director. She lives in Zurich.
Biography
Daniela Ambrosoli, daughter of German dancer Sonja Bragowa and Italian trader Pierino Ambrosoli is born in Ascona, Switzerland. She attends schools in Ascona and Locarno, where she acquires the Swiss Federal Type B Matura, she studies and works in the fields of psychology and medicine in Florence, Zürich and Geneva.
After the premature death of her father, she learns management and takes over many of the firms created by her father, such as Camping Delta and Amministrazioni Immobiliari Ambrosoli in Locarno. In 1999 she founds the Travel & Culture Management AG in Zurich. In 1990 she founds the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation to support the education of art students worldwide, with a special regard to dance and music.
In the following years Daniela Ambrosoli takes part in numerous executive boards of International associations working with dance, e.g. Prix de Lausanne, music and humanitarian and social issues, e.g. Soroptimist International Swiss Union.
Through her daughter Shari Yantra Marcacci, screenwriter and director, and her son Aliocha Merker, still photographer and cameraman, she is closely related to the movie industry for years. Since 2004 she works as assistant director, production manager and translator to the Italian director Renato Pugina on several documentaries all produced by the RSI, Swiss Italian Television: "La Depressione, il male oscuro" (2004), "Sul corpo e nel cuore" (2007), "In un corpo sbagliato" (2009), "Madri figlicide" (2010), "Per Amor di Dio" (2011) and "L'ultimo viaggio" (2013).
In 2009 she realises her first documentary HN Hermann Nitsch, which marks her debut as a film director.
