Dane Baptiste is British stand-up comedian and writer. He was nominated for the "Best Newcomer" at 2014's Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Awards and his comedy series Sunny D premiered on BBC Three in Spring 2016.
Career
Baptiste is from Hither Green, South East London. He was nominated for the 2014 "Best Newcomer" Edinburgh Comedy Award, becoming the first black Briton to be nominated. He was also nominated for a Chortle award in 2015. He has also made appearances on Sweat the Small Stuff, Virtually Famous, Celebrity Squares, Safeword, Live at the Apollo, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled and Mock the Week.
In 2016, BBC Three commissioned Sunny D, a comedy show Dane wrote and starred in where he plays a Dane who still lives with his parents and twin sister Kadean in a crammed house that he is desperate to escape.
