Crystal Gauvin (born 4 June 1984) is a female American right-handed compound archer and economist.
Early life
Crystal Gauvin was born on 4 June 1984 in Seville, Ohio.
She attended Cloverleaf High School in Lodi, Ohio, and graduated in 2002. At the school she was active in Track & Field, Swimming, and Volleyball and was the recipient of Academic and Varsity Athletic Letter. After high school, in the years 2002-2006, she studied Mathematics, Chemistry, Economics, Philosophy, and Theology at Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated with a B.S. degree in Mathematics. In 2006, she joined the University of Rhode Island and graduated with a Master's degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics.
Career
After graduation, Gauvin worked as an economist, leaving the corporate world in August 2013 to devote more time to archery.
In 2015, she competed and won Silver in the Individual Compound event at the 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.
After 3.5 years with a compound bow, Gauvin decided to switch to recurve. Currently, she continues to compete internationally, and also works as an economist in Boston.
