Clara Susanna Henry (born 9 April 1994) is a Swedish blogger, comedian, television presenter and author. She has approximately 400,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel, and she also has her own talk show at Kanal 5 Play. At Melodifestivalen 2014 she was a reporter for the backstage area at SVT Play.
Early life and education
Clara Henry grew up in Gökskulla, Landvetter. She has one younger sister named Kimberly and a younger brother named Christoffer. Her father grew up in the UK, but has lived in Sweden for many years.
In 2013 she attended the Ingrid Segerstedts gymnasium, studying in the society economics program with a special subject of journalism.
Career
During her teenage years she was a youth reporter for Göteborgs-Posten. Since the age of twelve she has blogged, and from 2005 she has blogged for bigger portals such as Nöjesguiden, the magazine Veckorevyn, and Devote. She also videoblogs regularly for her YouTube account. In 2013 she had her own talk show at Kanal 5 Play, where she interviewed guests and did comedy sketches. She made a second season of her talk show in 2014 under the name Häng med Clara Henry (English: Join Clara Henry); instead of sitting in a studio and talking, she meets her individual guests and hangs out for an entire day. She was awarded the "Vloger of the Year" award in 2013 at the Blog Award 2013.
Henry presented the Melodifestivalen 2014 pre-show interviews and the after-show talk, where she interviewed the winners of the semifinals and other guests at SVT Play. On 15 April 2014 she presented the Guldtuben-gala, a gala created by the YouTube network SPlay, in which an award is given to Sweden's best YouTube star. At the gala she herself won an award, for best vlog-channel.
Before the 2014 general elections in Sweden, Henry participated in the SVT comedy show Valfeber, a one-off comedy show about the upcoming elections, along with William Spetz. On 30 June 2015 Henry presented an episode of the Sveriges Radio show Sommar i P1 in which she discussed her life. In September 2015, Henry's first book, Ja jag har mens, hurså? (English: I've Got My Period, So What?), on the subject of menstrual periods and why women should not be ashamed to talk about them, was published by the Bokförlaget Forum. After the book release, she toured with her own lecture called YouTube på blodigt allvar (English: YouTube Deadly Serious) in Borås and Uppsala.
In December 2015 she was a travelling reporter for Musikhjälpen, broadcast in Sveriges Radio and SVT. She traveled to the Philippines to meet families that had been affected by Typhoon Melor. On 30 September 2016, SVT announced that Henry will host all six shows of Melodifestivalen 2017 alongside David Lindgren and Hasse Andersson.
In December 2016 Henry revealed that she is pansexual.
