Biography

Ciaran "Pecker" Quinn (born (1982-10-20)20 October 1982 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish footballer, unattached as of 2007. Quinn plays as a centre-forward.

Career

Quinn began his senior career at St. Patrick's Athletic before joining Drogheda United in 2002 becoming a regular member of their squad during the 2003 season. Ciaran left Drogheda in 2004 to join local rivals Dundalk but he failed to settle at the Lilywhites. After leaving Dundalk at the end of the 2004 season, Quinn had spells at Monaghan United, UCD and Glenavon before signing for Shelbourne in July 2007. Quinn made his Shelbourne debut on 20 July 2007 coming on as a second-half substitute during a 1–0 defeat against Finn Harps at Finn Park and scored his first goal for Shels with a delightful 25 yard lob over the goalkeeper during a 4–0 victory against Limerick 37 at Tolka Park on 1 September 2007. Quinn made 8 appearances for Shelbourne during the 2007 Season, 7 of which were substitute appearances. Quinn struggled to break into Shels starting eleven and was released at the end of the 2007 season. After unsuccessful trials with Sporting Fingal, Manchester City and Finn Harps.

Unfortunately due to persistent injuries & his ever increasing weight gain Ciaran had to retire from the sport in 2008. He since appeared as a leader on Operation Transformation in 2010 eventually losing half his body weight. He currently tours the country as a motivational speaker for "Fat Fighters United" & is the lead singer of a Right Said Fred tribute act. The act has achieved "moderate success" appearing on the X-Factor & Britain's Got Talent (but did not make it past the 1st round auditions). On Louis Walsh's advise he is due to undergo a hair transplant.
