Biography

Christopher O'Malley (born January 24, 1963) is the current CEO of Compuware Corporation, an American software company headquartered in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. He is best known for his advocacy of the mainframe platform, as well as his strong convictions for bringing the mainframe to Agile software development and including it in enterprises’ DevOps toolchains.

Career

Christopher O’Malley became President and CEO of Compuware in December 2014 after serving as its President of mainframe operations for six months. His nomination came soon after the acquisition of the company by Thoma Bravo for $2.5 Billion and its split of the mainframe business into a new company. O'Malley was central to leading Compuware out of its Waterfall development practice and into Agile and DevOps, whereby the company releases net-new software solutions for the mainframe every fiscal quarter.

O'Malley has held senior management and board member positions in a number of IT companies, including Bluenog (December 2009 – present), Nimsoft, Inc. (April 2011 - July 2012), YJT Solutions (July 2012 - March 2015), and VelociData, Inc. (September 2012 – present). He has also founded Christopher Ventures LLC established in July 2012.

From October 1988 to July 2010, O’Malley served at CA Technologies as Senior Vice President of sales, General Manager and Executive Vice President of Mainframe Business Unit, Executive Vice President of cloud products and solutions business line, Executive Vice President and General Manager of growth enterprises and General Manager of growth markets CSU.

O’Malley has been featured in several top-tier technology-industry publications for his innovative ideas around the mainframe. He is also a regular contributor of articles and columns to a number of publications.
