Biography
Christian Nanetti (born 12 November 1991) is an Italian professional footballer playing forward for Cork City in the League of Ireland.
Playing career
Nanetti came through the ranks at Queens Park Rangers where he made 23 appearances and scored three goals in his first season in the Under 18 set up. The team were hailed a success having reached the 4th round of the 2010 FA Youth Cup, and produced the likes of future England International Raheem Sterling and QPR first team player Michael Doughty.
Nanetti was loaned to Scottish Championship side Raith Rovers on an initial one-month contract and played his first match in 3-2 reserve fixture win over East Stirlingshire on 28 September 2010. Nanetti remained with Rovers until December 2010
Nanetti has featured for a number of clubs, predominantly in the National League and National League South, steps 4 and 5 of the English football pyramid system.
He spent two successful seasons with Havant & Waterlooville where he scored four goals in 10 appearances during the 2011–12 Season, and 43 appearances and 12 goals (including 7 penalties) in 2012–13.
In July 2014 Nanetti joined newly promoted National League side Dover Athletic. He scored his first goal for his new club in a 3–0 victory over Aldershot Town on 30 September 2014.
Whilst at Dover Athletic Nanetti suffered a broken foot during the season which caused him to miss the remainder of the season and hampered any chances of progression at the club. He then had a 10-month on and off period of rehabilitation which led him to the end of the 2015/16 season playing some games at the likes of Walton Casuals and East Grinstead Town to gain fitness for the coming season.
Short stints at Whitehawk, Ryman League Division One South side Walton Casuals in the summer of 2015, then East Grinstead in early 2016 led to a switch to Welling United on 30 September 2016. In the 14 games Nanetti played for welling he scored 3 goals and made 11 assists 7 of those by winning penalties.
On February 18, 2017 it was announced that Nanetti had joined for Cork City in the League of Ireland following a one-match trial versus Cobh Ramblers.
