Career
In 2014, aged just 17, Cutler began posting cover songs on SoundCloud which accumulated numerous streams, reaching the thousands. She started to catch the eye of major musicians, and soon began getting offers to sing on dance tracks from musicians such as Kasbo, Kidswaste, and Louis the Child. Cutler released her breakthrough song "Your Shirt" in 2017, and the single has garnered more than 50 million streams on Spotify, climbed through Spotify's Global Viral Charts, as well as reached 3rd place on SoundCloud's Pop Chart. In October of that same year, Cutler released her first EP, Snow in October. She has had three hit singles on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Chart: "Slow Down Love" with Louis the Child, which reached #42 in 2017; "The Shine" with Ayokay, which reached #50 in 2017; and "Not OK" with Kygo, which peaked at #8 in 2019.
In June 2018, Cutler released her next collection of self-produced work, an independent mixtape called Sleeping With Roses. The mixtape brought her acclamation including a feature on Spotify's New Music Friday Billboard located in Times Square. Soon after Sleeping With Roses' release, Cutler announced her very own first headline tour, spanning 18 cities within the US. The tour sold out within a week.
Cutler also released a collaborative EP titled brent with Jeremy Zucker in May 2019. The two first met at the University of Connecticut, while Zucker was performing at a fraternity party and Cutler was in attendance, visiting her friend at the University. They became friends and subsequently released the single "you were good to me," which turned out to be the leading single in the five-track EP.
Later, quickly following the success of Sleeping With Roses and her first tour, she released Sleeping With Roses II and announced a second World Tour. She signed with Republic Records in 2019, and released her debut album How to Be Human through them on January 17, 2020. That album became Cutler's first entry on the United States album charts, where it peaked at number 23 on the Billboard 200 on the chart dated February 1, 2020. The album also charted in Canada, where it peaked at number 51 on their albums chart. That album also spawned the single "Sad Tonight," which Billboard called an "anthemic breakup song." It became Cutler's first entry on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart, so far peaking at number 34 in March 2020.
Cutler is also slated to perform at Coachella 2020.
