Biography

Charles Jarvis (born 11 November 1792; died October 1855 in Radford, Nottingham) was an English first-class cricketer who played for Nottingham Cricket Club in the early 19th century.
With the game not so well established in that county as in others, he played only one match recognised as first-class, a three-day affair against Sheffield and Leicester at the Darnall New Ground in Sheffield on 24, 25, 26 July 1826. Jarvis's side lost by an innings and 203 runs. Opening the batting with Thomas Barker, he scored three and thirteen, and did not bowl. This was the last of his four appearances for the club in a career not nearly so distinguished as that of his brother George.
