Biography
Chandra Kumar Bose (born 4 October 1960) is an Indian politician and businessman. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and is the Vice President of its West Bengal unit. Chandra Kumar Bose is the grandnephew of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the grandson of Sarat Chandra Bose. His father Amiya Nath Bose was a Forward Bloc MP from Arambagh in West Bengal. Chandra Kumar Bose completed his graduation from London before he started his career in Tata Steel. He completed his MBA from the Institute of Modern Management, Kolkata. Since 2016, Chandra Kumar Bose has been in active politics with the BJP. He has contested in the 2016 West Bengal Assembly and 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.
Early life
Chandra Kumar Bose was born on 4 October 1960 to Amiya Nath Bose and Jyotsna Bose in Kolkata, then called Calcutta. Chandra Kumar Bose's father Late Amiya Nath Bose was a Member of Parliament elected from Arambagh.
Chandra Kumar Bose is the grand nephew of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and grandson of Sarat Chandra Bose. Bose studied economics at Hendon College in London and completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from IMM, Kolkata in 1982. He joined Tata Management Training Centre in Jamshedpur. After leaving the job he joined Bose Information Technology, which was started in Hamburg, Germany by his brother Surya Bose.
Political career
Chandra Kumar Bose joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at a public meeting in Howrah on 23 January 2016. In 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election he contested from Bhabanipur (Vidhan Sabha constituency) as Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. He was nominated as their candidate in 2019 Indian general election from Kolkata Dakshin (Lok Sabha constituency) but lost to Mala Roy of All India Trinamool Congress.
