Biography

Carolyn A. Brent is an American author, bodybuilder and caregiver advocate. 

She is known for authoring such books as:

  • Why Wait? The Baby-Boomers Guide to Preparing Emotionally, Financially and Legally for a Parent’s Death. (Sep 2011)
  • The Caregiver's Companion: Caring for Your Loved One Medically, Financially and Emotionally While Caring for Yourself (Jan 2015)

Early life and education

Brent was born in in 1957. She grew up in Denver area and was brought up by her father, William L. Brent. She later moved to Los Angeles. She attended University of Phoenix and earned a Master of Business Administration in 1998.

Career

Early in her career, she worked as a sales consultant for various healthcare/pharma companies, including Pfizer, Novartis, and GSK.

In 2011, she published a book, Why Wait? The Baby-Boomers Guide to Preparing Emotionally, Financially and Legally for a Parent’s Death.

In May 2019, she published her latest self-help book, Transforming Your Life through Self-Care: A Guide to Tapping into Your Deep Beauty and Inner Worth Hardcover.

In 2016, at age 60, she won the NPC 2016 Women’s Figure Category.

She is an expert on self-care and caregiving. She is also the founder of Across All Ages and two nonprofit organizations, CareGiverStory Inc. and Grandpa's Dream.
