Early life

Cara was born in Bangor, Gwynedd, North Wales and primarily grew up near Llanystumdwy (a village and community on the Llŷn Peninsula of Gwynedd in Wales) before moving to Pentrefelin. However following the birth of Cara's little sister Giovana Aleta Braia in 1997, the family then moved to a nearby town called Criccieth (a seaside town situated on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park) in 2000.

Cara Braia developed a love for performing at the young age of two when she started ballet and tap dance lessons in her local dance school. Cara's first time performing on stage was at the age of four, and was given her first major role of 'Dorothy' (Wizard of Oz) at the age of nine.

Shortly after turning nine years old, Cara began performing in gigs around Gwynedd, North Wales; singing operatic songs with a classically trained group called 'Reflections'. From then on Cara's passion grew even further and so did her determination to succeed in the arts.

Career

Her passion for songwriting began at the age of 16 as she produced her first tracks on her album, 'Door Step', 'And They Say' and 'Deja Vu'.

Many local radio shows started to play Cara's songs, Heart FM was one of the first radio shows which played "Maent yn Dweud" live. Following this BBC Radio Cymru was also one of the first which played this track and it was also chosen as 'Track Of The Week'.

Braia gained media as many local writers were wanting interviews in order to write about her success in the music industry, following all of this success Idris Charles from S4C Tinopolis contacted her for an interview on 'Heno' which would be aired on live television.

She then began to perform in venues in Wales but as her level of success increased, she then began performing around the United Kingdom in various venues. She has also performed in many venues including, Venue Cymru, Glass Butter Beach Festival, North Wales Pride and many more, through these she has also shared the stage with many well known acts, Tinchy Stryder, Baby Blue, DJ Ace ( Radio1Xtra.) Since then she has prospered even more through the music industry as she has collaborated with many artists from different cultural backgrounds and countries including; Australia, France, Poland, Germany, Africa, UK and the US.
