Clarence A. Dickison (1878 - 1965) was an American republican politician. He was the first mayor of the city of Compton, California.
Early life
Clarence Anson Dickison was born on July 28, 1878, in Missouri.
Career
In 1924, Dickison, a republican, contested in Compton election and won. He was the mayor of the city from 1924 to 1933. He lost re-election to C. S. Smith in 1933 by only 74 votes.
Personal life
Dickison was married to his wife, Meda Kelso. The couple had two children. His daughter, Jane D. Robbins (1919 – 2008,) served on the Compton City Council from 1976 until 1995.
Death
Dickison died on February 8, 1965.
