Biography

Bryant Austin (born September 17, 1987) is an American professional basketball player who played for Thewpaingarm and Siam University in the Thailand Basketball League. Austin played college basketball at Indiana Tech. He was later drafted in the NBA Development League by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, affiliates of the Indiana Pacers. Austin is currently the Skills Development Coach for the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions (ASEAN Basketball League) located in Hong Kong, China.

College career

Austin played college basketball at Indiana Tech. He helped the school win a conference championship, giving the Warriors an automatic birth in the 2007-2008 NAIA Division II National Tournament. Austin was 2008-2009 All-Conference and an Academic All-American the same year. He graduated in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Communications, after serving as an Assistant Coach to then Head Coach, Brad Winton.

Professional career

In 2012, Austin played in the ABA with the newly established Lima Explosion (Lima, Ohio). Austin helped lead Lima to a 20-5 record.

In August 2013, Austin played in Ashkelon, Israel. He returned home three months later following a serious injury.

NBA Development League

On November 2, 2012, Austin was drafted into the NBA Development League. He was selected by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. He broke his right hand during training camp and was waived by the Ants. He was later reacquired by the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants from the D-League’s available player pool. Austin appeared in 10 games for the Ants.

In 2014, Austin returned to the US and played for the Lima Express in the PBL. He was named "Forward of The Year" & the Premier Basketball League's 2014 Most Valuable Player. After the season, Austin traveled to play and win a Championship with Eastern (東方籃球隊) in Hong Kong, China.

In 2015, Austin played in the University games in Bangkok, Thailand for Siam University.
