Biography

Bruno Junk (September 27, 1929 in Valga – September 22, 1995 in Tallinn) was an Estonian athlete who competed mainly in walking events. He trained in Moscow and later in Tallinn at Dynamo.
He competed for the USSR in the 1952 Summer Olympics held in Helsinki, Finland in the 10 kilometre walk where he won the bronze medal. He returned four years later in the 1956 Summer Olympics held in Melbourne, Australia in the 20 kilometre walk, which had now replaced the shorter 10 kilometre walk, where he again won the bronze medal.
