Biography
Brijendra Pratap Singh also known as Dau Sahab (born 29 August 1967) is an Indian politician who is a Member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Panna Assembly constituency, being associated with the Bhartiya Janta Party. He is serving as minister in the ministry of Mineral Resources and Labour Department since 2021 in the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
He served as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Farmers' Development and Agriculture Welfare and Tourism and Public Service Management in the Government of Madhya Pradesh during the tenure from 2009 to 2013. During this tenure, he also held the additional charge of Sports and Youth Welfare.
Early life and education
Brijendra Pratap Singh was born to Uday Pratap Singh on 29 August 1967.
He had completed his schooling from Daly College, Indore in 1986, and then got his Bachelor of Commerce degree from a Barkatullah University, Bhopal. He completed his L.L.B. from Awdesh Pratap Singh University in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. He received the best student award in Daly College, Indore in the year 1985–1986.
He was a national level Squash player.
He was awarded with a certificate of superior and excellent achievement for shooting in 1986.
Political career
He won his first elections in the year 2003 from Pawai Constituency of Madhya Pradesh. He was the first leader from the BJP to win in that constituency. He got re-elected in 2008. In 2009, there was an extension in Shivraj Singh Chauhan's cabinet wherein he was appointed as the State Minister with a portfolio of Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Department. After a year, he was also made in charge of the Department of Public Service Management. In early 2013, due to the illness of senior cabinet minister Tukoji Rao Pawar, the departments of Tourism and Sports and Youth Welfare were also transferred to him.
In 2018 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly election he got his ticket of the Bharatiya Janata Party from the Panna Assembly Constituency.
In 2020, while serving as the MLA from Panna, Brijendra Pratap Singh was made the part of the 4th cabinet of Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Madhya Pradesh.

Awards and recognition
- Being a Member of the National Conference of State Legislatures in the United States of America in 2006.
- He was awarded with the Krishi Karman Award by the Government of India on 15 January 2013 at the Vigyan Bhawan.
- United Nations Public Service Award 2012 for the recognition to the Public Service Management Department that was constituted under him. In the year 2010, he was made the in charge of this department and with his diligence; he introduced the policy under which the services rendered by the government were bound by a time period. This act was known as Madhya Pradesh Public Service Guarantee Act, 2010.This scheme was then followed by other Indian states and had set an example in the field of Improvement and Public Service Management.
- On 15th December 2012, the state of Madhya Pradesh was awarded to achieve highest agricultural growth rate while he was serving as the State Minister of Agricultural development.
- Under his leadership, the state of Madhya Pradesh was awarded National Awards instituted by the ministry of Tourism (Government of India) for best Civic Managed Destination (Nandu) and best innovative Tourism Project (Air Taxi Award).
- On 19th December, 2012 Honorable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh received the Agriculture Leadership Award by the President of India for placing the state in the best agriculture state category and he was the in charge of this department.
- On 12th July 2022, under the Mining Department, Singh bragged three major awards. Under his guidance, his department received first rank award in the category of extraction and auctioning wherein Madhya Pradesh performed profoundly well.
- He became the first minister of the Loksewa Guarantee department of MP, designing its policies and reforms for which he was rewarded in the UN, New York.
