Biography
Sir Brian Geoffrey Bender, KCB (born 1949) is a retired British civil servant, who served as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (later the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) and the Department of Trade and Industry. (later the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform). He became Chairman of the London Metal Exchange in April 2010, and is a Governor of Dulwich College, a trustee of Lloyds Register Foundation and a non-executive Director of the Financial Reporting Council.
Bender was appointed twice to the Order of the Bath; originally, a Companion (CB), and later the Knight Commander (KCB) in the 2003 Birthday Honours.
