Brad Lewter
Quick Facts
Biography
Brad Lewter is an American bass guitarist and singer, formerly associated with Orlando, Florida-based heavy metal band Trivium.
Trivium was formed in 1999 by Lewter (bass and vocals), Jarred Bonaparte (guitar), and Travis Smith (drums) — all students at Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Shortly after the band's formation, Lewter noticed Matt Heafy perform a cover version of "Self Esteem" by The Offspring at their high school talent show. Impressed, Lewter asked Heafy to try out for his band. The two then went over to drummer Travis Smith's house to audition where they played Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls." Things worked out and Heafy joined Trivium.
However, Lewter left the band in 2000 due to differences in their music tastes. Consequently, Heafy took over as the band's lead vocalist and frontman.
