Bob Ballard (September 23, 1913—May 2, 1992) was an American record producer, music Arranger, and songwriter. He frequently collaborated with Freddy Martin, Lawrence Welk, and Ray Conniff.
Life and career
Bob Ballard was born Robert Hudson Ballard on September 23, 1913, in Nyack, New Jersey. He studied music with Edmund Ross and Lyle 'Spud' Murphy and worked as an arranger for the bands of Gus Arnheim, Freddy Martin, and Phil Harris before his association (1973-1982) with Lawrence Welk as an arranger, choral director, and musical advisor. In 1960, he worked with Dick Kesner on his album Dick Kesner And His Magic Stradivarius.
Death
Ballard died in Riverside County, California, on May 2, 1992, at age 78.
