Biography

Bhaurao Krishnaji Gaikwad(15 October 1902 – 29 December 1971) known as Dadasaheb Gaikwad was a politician and social worker from Maharashtra, India. He is founder member of Republican Party of India.He had also been member of parliament representing the both houses Lok sabha and Rajya sabha. He was honoured by Padma Shri in 1968 for his dedicated service to society. He was a close colleague and follower of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
The Government of India issued a commemorative stamp in his honour in 2002.

Life

Dadasaheb was born on 15 October 1902 at village Ambe in Dindori tahasil of Nashik district in a peasant Mahar family.
