Betty Sutton

Betty Sutton is an American politician who served as the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 13th congressional district from 2007 to 2013. She is a member of the Democratic Party.

Betty Sutton was born on July 31, 1963, in Barberton, Ohio. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Kent State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Akron School of Law.

Before serving in Congress, Betty Sutton held various political positions. She served as a Member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1993 to 2000 and as the Minority Leader from 2003 to 2008. She was also the Director of the Ohio Bureau of Consumer Protection.

During her time in Congress, Betty Sutton served on several committees. She was a member of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, the Subcommittee on Health, the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, and the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
