Ben Jacobson

Ben Jacobson is an American college basketball coach. He is currently the head men's basketball coach at the University of Northern Iowa. Jacobson is best known for leading the UNI Panthers to the NCAA Tournament, including a memorable run to the Sweet Sixteen in 2010.

Ben Jacobson was born and raised in Mayville, North Dakota. He attended Mayville-Portland High School, where he played basketball and had a successful career as a point guard.

After graduating from the University of North Dakota, Ben Jacobson began his coaching career as an assistant coach at North Dakota for two seasons. In 2001, he joined the coaching staff at the University of Northern Iowa as an assistant coach. He was promoted to the head coach position in 2006 and has since had a successful tenure, leading the team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and earning several Coach of the Year honors.

Under Ben Jacobson's leadership, the UNI Panthers have achieved several notable accomplishments. In 2010, the team made a remarkable run to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament. Jacobson has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year three times, in 2009, 2015, and 2020.
