Bakar Hamid merupakan seorang penyanyi yang mencipta namanya semenjak 1960-an.
Ketika itu pengaruh kumpulan The Beatles dari England telah mewujudkan irama pop yeh-yeh dari 1965 hingga 1971. Istilah pop yeh-yeh telah diambil dari judul lagu popular The Beatles, (She Loves You - Yeh, Yeh, Yeh).
Bakar Hamid sering kali menyanyi dengan diiringi oleh oleh kumpulan The Hawks.
