Biography
Azath Salley is a Sri Lankan politician.
He is former Deputy mayor of Colombo, and founder and leader of the Muslim Tamil National Alliance (MTNA). The MTNA is an Islamic political party that advocates Tamil-Muslim political dialogue in the country.
In May 2013, Salley was arrested by the Sri Lankan Forces under the notorious Prevention of Terrorism Act(PTA) for criticizing Anti-Muslim racism propagated by the state.
