Biography

Antonio Calpe Hernández (born 4 February 1940) is a Spanish retired professional footballer who played as a defender.

Biography

He began professionally in the CD Alcoyano, competing the 1961-62 and 1962-63 seasons in Third Division. In the 1963-64 season joined the Levante in that same season came to first division. In season 1965-66 was transferred to Real Madrid, one of the components of equipment called ye-ye and winning five major trophies, including four national championships and the European Cup to 1966.

In the summer of 1971 with 31 years of age, Calpe had two major injuries: cruciate ligaments and Achilles tendon rupture and returned to his former club, who was in Third Division. In 1973-74 he went to Second Division, and finally retired in 1975.

Calpe was one of three managers for Levante in 1981–82.
