Ángel Galup

Ángel Galup (c.1780-1840s) was an Argentine military, Captain in the Cántabros Montañeses regiment during the May Revolution.

Galup was born in Buenos Aires, son of José Manuel Galup, born in Genoa, but of Catalan origin. His father had been legal representative of Aimé Bonpland. In 1806 and 1807 he participates in the defense of Buenos Aires during the English invasions. In 1810 Galup, adheres to the May Revolution cause. That same year, he served under orders of the Colonel Ignacio Álvarez Thomas.

In 1816 Ángel Galup, was appointed military commander in Ranchos, Buenos Aires, participating in military expeditions against the Indians.
