Controversy

In 2016, Anele Mdoda faced backlash after a holiday in Israel. The criticism, largely by South Africans, was due to her visiting Israel during a cultural boycott by the South African government and citizens, who are opposed to the apartheid and genocide to which Israel subjects Palestine. Mdoda referred to the criticisms as "political babble", a statement she has never retracted.
