Andrea Piecuch

Andrea Piecuchis an American model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss US Virgin Islands 2019. She will represent the U.S. Virgin Islands at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant.

Miss Utah USA 2019

Piecuch participated in the Miss Utah USA 2019 and became the third runner-up. The eventual winner was Amanda Giroux of Riverdale.

Miss US Virgin Islands 2019

Piecuch represented Hassel Island at the Miss US Virgin Islands 2019 which was held at the Divi Carina Bay Resort & Casino in Saint Croix on August 17, 2019. She was one of the winners and was crowned as Miss Universe U.S. Virgin Islands 2019. She was crowned by the outgoing titleholder Aniska Tonge.

As Miss US Virgin Islands, Piecuch will represent the U.S. Virgin Islands at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant.

Controversy

Piecuch, a former flight attendant, and sales representative travels extensively for work and had been living on St. Thomas for almost one year at the time of the competition. Still, many locals were upset by her win as she was not born in the Virgin Islands. The rules clearly state that anyone residing in a place for a minimum of 6 months may compete, and Piecuch exceeded the requirements. In today's mobile society, it is very rare that any person will live their entire life in one place, which is why the 6 month rule has been put in place. Piecuch has family in Utah which also makes her eligible to compete in the states.
