Biography
Amit Vilas Deshmukh, is an Indian politician and a Member of Legislative Assembly from Latur City in Maharashtra. He was a Minister of State in Government of Maharashtra led by Congress. He is the eldest son of Vilasrao Deshmukh.

In 2009, Deshmukh contested from Latur City on Congress ticket & defeated Kayyum Khan Mohammad Khan Pathan of Bahujan Samaj Party & Shripad Kulkarni of Shivsena by a margin of 89,480 votes.

He is married to Aditi Pratap. He is also the elder brother of actor Ritesh Deshmukh and Dheeraj Deshmukh.
