Alvar Soesoo (sündinud 7. aprillil 1963) on eesti geoloog, filosoofiadoktor, professor, töötanud ka Tallinna Tehnikaülikooli Geoloogia Instituudi direktorina.
Soesoo on uurinud muuhulgas Islandi vulkaanikraatreid ja Lacklandi kurrutusala Austraalias.
Alvar Soesoo on alates 1989. aastast Eesti Geoloogia Seltsi liige, aastatel 2006–2008 oli EGS juhatuse esimees.
