Alfred Talkovsky

Alfred Mikhailovich Talkovsky (Russian: Альфред Михайлович Тальковский; 28 December 1935 – 8 May 2018) was a Soviet and Russian singer-songwriter, musician and poet.

Talkovsky was born in 1935 in Leningrad, Soviet Union. He began writing songs in 1961 after graduating from the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts. In 1963 he became a laureate of the Russian Artist Competition. Following it, he worked with Leningrad Philharmonic, where his solo program was "Soviet and Foreign Poetry". He also was a founder of such programs as "Achilles Heart", "40s Rock" and many others. He performed with such greats as Bulat Okudzhava, Alexander Gorodnitsky, Yuri Kukin, and Eduard Khil.

In 2006 Alfred Talkovsky was awarded the Merited Artist of the Russian Federation title.
