Biography

Alexandra Morgan is an American educator and former actress active during the 1970s and 1980s and known for her roles in The First Nudie Musical and The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywood.

Career

Morgan studied drama at The Juilliard School, New York. She made her acting debut in 1973 in "The Child Between" episode of the Charles Marquis Warren-directed television series Gunsmoke. She played the role of "Makesha," appearing alongside James Arness (as Matt Dillon) and Milburn Stone (as doc.)

In 1976, she was seen playing one of the main roles of "Miss Mary La Rue" in Bruce Kimmel's comedy/musical The First Nudie Musical. The R-rated comedy, with Stephen Nathan, Cindy Williams, and Kimmel in lead roles, became a cult classic during the time.

After appearing in "Trance of Death" episode (1978) of the TV series The Next Step Beyond, Morgan landed the role of "Max" in Alan Roberts-directed comedy The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywood. The film was an adaptation of The Happy Hooker, a memoir written by a Dutch former madam Xaviera Hollander, who was portrayed by Martine Beswick in the film. Chris Lemmon played the character of Robby Rottman, Adam West of Lionel Lamely and Phil Silvers of William B. Warkoff. Earlier in 1977, there was another version of the film titled The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington. The film was directed by William A. Levey and Xaviera Hollander was portrayed by actress/singer Joey Heatherton.

After appearing in "The Surprise" (1981) episode of Knots Landing and in films Deadly Games (1982) and Erotic Images (1983,) she was seen in a minor role of a nurse in 1985 in "Wordplay" segment of TV series The Twilight Zone.

She took a break from acting during the late 80s/90s, when she attended the University of Southern California, Los Angeles (1987-1992), graduating with a Master of Arts degree in Professional Writing.

She was seen on screen again in 2000, playing the role of a policewoman in "Dangerous Games" episode of the hit TV Series Baywatch. In 2006, she played the role of a moderator in "A Tale of Two Cities" episode of the TV show Lost.

In 2014, she wrote and performed in her solo show about sex and aging, Sexagenarian, at the Whitefire Theatre Solofest in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles.

Most recently, in February 2016, she was seen as "Lois" in Montana Mann-directed short TV comedy Ageless.

Since 2008, Morgan has been teaching English as a second language in Los Angeles. She has also worked as ESL Instructor at Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, Santa Monica, California.
