Aleksandar Atanasijević

Aleksandar Atanasijević (Serbian Cyrillic: Александар Атанасијевић; born 4 September 1991) is a Serbian volleyball player, a member of Serbian national team and Italian club Sir Safety Perugia, a participant of the Olympic Games 2011 2012 London, European Champion, bronze medalist of the European Championship 2013, medalist of leagues: Serbian, Polish and Italian.

As a player of Sir Safety Perugia in season 2013/2014.

His first professional club was Serbian OK Partizan. His trainer was Slavko Barandzic. In 2011 he moved to Polish Champion, one of the most successful Polish team of PlusLiga – PGE Skra Bełchatów. In his first season playing in Poland was mainly a substitute for spiker Mariusz Wlazły. In the second season, has become a major player on his positions repeatedly winning the statuette for best player of the match. With PGE Skra Belchatów he won silver medal of Polish Championship in 2011/2012. He has silver medal of Club World Championships from 2012. He won with the club from Bełchatów Polish Cup in 2012. In 2012 PGE Skra Belchatów with Atanasijević gained silver medal of CEV Champions League after the match against Zenit Kazan on Final Four in Łódź, Poland. The match ended controversially, because the judge didn't see the error of the Russian player and finished the match despite the fact that the audience and the players saw the error on screen. In 2013 moved to Italian club – Sir Safety Perugia. In season 2013/2014 won silver medal of Italian Championship after losing matches against Lube Banca Macerata. On May 2014 signed new three-year contract with Sir Safety Perugia.

National team

He is a gold medalist of European Championship 2011 and bronze medalist of European Championship 2013. He was a member of the national team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. On July 19, 2015 Serbian national team with him in squad went to the final of World League, but they lost with France 0–3 and achieved silver medal. Atanasijević received individual award for the Best Opposite Spiker.
