Alan Hardy is a professional rugby league footballer of the 1970s and '80s, playing at club level for Castleford, as a Prop, Hooker, or Second-row, i.e. number 8 or 10, 9, or, 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums.

Alan Hardy played Left-Prop, i.e. number 8, (replaced by Interchange/Substitute Paul Norton) in Castleford's 10-5 victory over Bradford Northern in the 1981 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1981–82 season at Headingley Stadium, Leeds, on Saturday 3 October 1981.
