Biography

Aftab Ahmed Khan (Urdu: آفتاب احمد خان‎; born 6 May 1931) is a former Pakistani cricketer. From Lahore, Aftab made his first-class for Punjab University during the 1948–49 season against a Punjab Governor's XI, and played in a similar fixture two seasons later. A right-arm off-spinner, three of his four remaining matches at first-class level came for Punjab, during the 1953–54 and 1954–55 editions of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Against North-West Frontier Province in November 1954, Aftab took a career-best 6/27 in the first innings and 5/52 in the second innings, finishing with match figures of 11/79. However, he was less successful in his two other matches during the season (including one against the touring Indians), and never again played for Punjab. Overall, Aftab finished his career with 20 wickets from six first-class matches, eleven of which came in the match against North-West Frontier Province.
