Abu Salim (born 1952) is an Indian actor in Malayalam movies. He has acted in more than 151 Malayalam films. He is a talented actor famous for villain roles as well as character roles. He has acted in few Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu movies as well.
Background
Abu Salim was born as second son among six children to Kunhammed and Fathima at Kalpatta in Wayanad. He has four brothers, Hameed, Muhammed, Khader, Abdul and a sister, Rasiya. He had his primary education from S.K.M.J.High school,Kalpetta,Wynad. His debut movie was Rajan Paranja Kadha in 1978. He is a police officer by profession and retired as a sub inspector in 2012. He won the Mr Calicut Title in 1981, Mr Kerala in 1982, Mr South India thrice in 1983, 1986 and 1987, Mr. India title twice in 1984 and 1992. He recently celebrated the completion of 150 movies. Priyadarshan's Malamaal Weekly 2 will be his 151st movie.
Personal life
He is married to Ummukulsu on 23 May 1982. The couple have a daughter, Sabitha and a son, Sanu Salim. Sabitha is married to Ashik TK and living in Sydney and the couple have a baby girl, Lutfa Fathima. Sanu Salim is running a construction company in Kalpetta, a media studio called Bitframes in Calicut & a packet food manufacturing company called Krumbles in Bangalore. He is married to Rizwana Parveen & has tried his luck in few Malayalam movies like Chempada, Kurukshetra and The Train.
