Abdukodir Khusanov (Uzbek: Abduqodir Xikmatjon o‘g‘li Xusanov; born 29 February 2004) is an Uzbek professional footballer who plays as a defender for Ligue 1 club Lens and the Uzbekistan national team.
Club career
Pupil of the Uzbek club Bunyodkor. He played in the youth team of the club in the age category up to 18 years. In March 2022, he moved to Belarusian club Energetik-BGU Minsk. He made his debut for the club on 19 March 2022, in a match against Vitebsk, where the player himself came out in the starting lineup and played the entire match. He scored his first goal on 2 May 2022 in a match against Neman Grodno, where he also gave two assists. In a match on 29 May 2022, against Slavia Mozyr, he scored his first goal from a penalty kick. In August 2022, he was included in the list of the most promising players in the world according to the International Center for Sports Research. At the end of the season, he became the silver medalist of 2022 Belarusian Premier League. He got into the symbolic team of the championship.
In December 2022, Energetik-BGU reported that the footballer would continue to play at the club. The first match of the new season was played on 2 April 2023 against BATE Borisov. He got into the symbolic team of the second round of the Belarusian Premier League. The football player scored the first goal in the new season on 23 April2023 in a match against Shakhtar Soligorsk. In April 2023, the football player was included in the list of the most promising players under 20, where he took 15th place among defenders.
On 24 July 2023, he signed with RC Lens by a four-year contract, thus becoming the first Uzbek player to play in Ligue 1. He made his debut for the club on 16 September 2023, in a 1–0 loss against Metz.
International career
In June 2023, this football player received a call to Uzbekistan to participate in the CAFA Nations Cup. He made his debut for the national team on 11 June 2023 in a match against Oman, replacing Farrukh Sayfiev in the 83rd minute.
