Biography

Abbie Eaton (born 2 January 1992) is a racing driver from the East Riding of Yorkshire, England.

Racing career

Karting

Abbie started karting aged 10 in the comer cadet class gaining invaluable track craft along with numerous podiums and wins. Abbie then went on to kart for a further 3 years moving up into Minimax and then Junior Max competing in the Super 1 series.

SAXMAX

In 2007 Abbie completed her first season in cars, racing in the SAXMAX Championship learning tracks around the country achieving a highest finish of 4th. 2008 saw Abbie back in SAXMAX fighting for the championship lead for most of the year however had to settle for 4th place, with three podiums and two fastest laps.

Production Touring Car Trophy & British GT

In 2009 Abbie moved into her first year of adult car racing in the Production Touring Car Championship driving a Vauxhall Corsa SRi-R. She won the class B championship outright with 15/18 wins, 16 podiums and 7 fastest laps and finished 2nd in the overall championship.

2010 left Abbie without a drive when her British GT debut fell through only weeks before the season was due to start. However she did manage to make one race in the Mazda Mx5 Mk1 championship finishing 3rd out of 90+ entries.

Mazda Mx5 Cup

In 2011 Abbie was back in the racing seat in a Mazda Mx5 Cup car to take on the challenge of rear wheel drive cars. After a tough season missing several rounds due to lack of budget Abbie managed to achieve 11 top 10 finishes and a highest qualifying of 3rd.

Abbie competed in a handful of races in the 2012 Mazda Mx5 Cup but had to withdraw due to unforeseen family circumstances.

Mazda MX5 Supercup

In 2013 Abbie raced in the last 3 races of the Mazda Mx5 SuperCup with a win, two second places, one third and one fourth. She also raced in the Autumn Challenge and achieved two second places.

2014 saw Abbie returning to the Mazda Mx5 Supercup Championship for the last time. After an average start due to car troubles Abbie went on to achieve 5 wins, 7 podiums, 6 fastest laps, 2 pole positions, a new lap record and was crowned the 2014 Mazda Mx5 Supercup Champion. One of her most notable rounds was at Anglesey Circuit, in which she qualified on pole, 8 tenths ahead of second place, won and set fastest laps and a new lap record in all three races.
