Ashley Greene

Ashley Greene is an American actress and model best known for playing Alice Cullen in Twilight film series.

Ashley Greene (Ashley Michele Greene) was born on February 21, 1987, to Joseph Lacy Greene and Michelle Greene. Her father is a businessman, and her mother is an insurance broker. Ashley has an older brother, Joe, also an actor.

She grew up in Middleburg and Jacksonville in Florida. Growing up, Ashley learned taekwondo and won several awards. She has always been very competitive.

Greene attended University Christian School, Florida, and transferred to Wolfson High School, Florida, when she was in tenth grade.

In her childhood, despite having the good looks, she felt she is not as pretty as her friends. To improve her confidence, her mother put her in a modeling school. She was told to focus on acting as she was not tall enough (5'5") to be a fashion model. She followed the advice, and after taking acting lessons, she fell in love with acting.

She graduated from high school early, and at the age of 17, she moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in acting. Her parents supported her decision.

Later, she also attended Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute.

During her struggling days in Los Angeles, she landed small roles in TV shows such as Punk'd (2003) and Crossing Jordan (2001). She also appeared in King of California (2007) and Shrink (2009.)

Her big break came with the audition for the film Twilight (2008), which is based on Stephenie Meyer's popular book series. After a rigorous, grueling auditioning process, Greene was accepted to play Alice Cullen in the movie. She then went on to play her character in The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009,) The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010,) The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 (2011,) and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (2012.) She co-starred with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson among others.

In 2010, she appeared in the drama film Skateland alongside Shiloh Fernandez, Brett Cullen, James LeGros, and Taylor Handley. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2010 and was released in the US in May 2011.

In 2011, she worked in the movie A Warrior's Heart with her Twilight co-star Kellan Lutz.

Greene is the face of a retro-style dresses store, Stop Staring Clothing.

In 2010-11, Greene dates Joe Jonas of Jonas brothers. In a Reddit Q&A, Jonas stated that he lost virginity to Greene. 

In 2012, she dated Broadway actor/musician Reeve Carney. The couple split in October 2012.

In December 2016, Greene got engaged to Paul Khoury. The couple began dating in 2013.

She is a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn, and of her movie, Breakfast At Tiffany's.

In her free time, she likes to read and surf.

I hate jealous guys! Everyone can be jealous. We all have that in us. Push the demon down or it's going to drive the other person away.

... I don't think I'm going to be pigeonholed. If I always played the hot, stupid chick, then I might be pigeonholed as that. I get to kind of choose my films, which hopefully I will choose wisely and build off of that versus pissing the fans off.

Don't throw petals on the floor if they have no meaning. I would rather have a fun, casual relationship than have someone pretending they're completely in love with me.

I definitely try to make it home. I actually have my family fly out, and I have a couple of Florida friends fly out sometimes, and then I have a best friend or two in L.A. I just try hanging out and spending time with my friends - I try and live a normal lifestyle. -- on what she likes to do for fun.

I'm independent. If a guy is too clingy or needy, I actually get afraid of hurting him - and I can't deal with that.

As an actor you want people to know you and there are times you want your pictures taken, but it's unnerving to walk out of a venue with friends and there are 20 people flashing lights in your face. Do you know how bright those lights are?

I love love, love Audrey Hepburn. She's so timeless and classically beautiful. Geena Davis is also great... Long Kiss Goodnight was a favorite of mine for a while. Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, and Felicity Huffman are some others I look up to.

I really would love to do a piece like Julia Roberts or Charlize Theron in Erin Brockovich or North Country. They were both so amazing and so inspiring. I would love to touch someone in the way they're performances touched me. Obviously that will be when I play 30 and not 16 so I have time. Also a time piece.
