Biography
Xiaodong Yang is an Assistant Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Early life
Xiaodong Yang had graduated from University of Science and Technology of China with Bachelor of Science degree in 2000 and then three years later got his Master of Science degree from Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2009 he obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University and then became a postdoc at the University of California, Berkeley where he remained till 2011.
Research
In 2006 Xiaodong Yang and his colleagues from Optical Society of America had used stimulated Raman scattering to defect waveguides in the silicon on insulator photonic crystal. In 2011 he along with Atsushi Ishikawa, Xiaobo Yin, and Xiang Zhang had discovered a hybrid nanocavity. In 2016 Xiadong Yang and Jie Gao have developed a 3-D holographic images with nanomaterials in full-color.
