William Shieh from the The University of Melbourne, Glen Waverley, Victoria, Australia was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2013 for contributions to coherent optical orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing, and also Fellow of the Optical Society.
