Biography
William Jackson, D.D. (born Grasmere 1792 - died Carlisle 1878) was a nineteenth century priest and academic.
Jackson was educated at The Queen's College, Oxford and was then Fellow and Tutor there until 1828.He was Rector of Lowther from 1828 to 1841; and then ofCliburn from 1841 to 1858. He was also Archdeacon of Carlisle from 1855 until 1858; and Provost of The Queen's College, Oxford from 1862 until his death on 13 September 1878.
