Biography

William Drew Washburn Jr. (April 3, 1863 – October 10, 1929) was an American politician and businessman.

Born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Washburn went to the Minneapolis, Minnesota public schools and then graduated from Phillips Andover Academy, Massachusetts in 1883. In 1888, Washburn graduated from Yale University. Washburn was in the newspaper, real estate and railroad business. Washburn served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1901 to 1903, 1905–1907, 1909 to 1913, 1917 to 1919, and 1921 to 1926. Washburn was a Republican. His father was William D. Washburn who served in the United States Congress and in the Minnesota Legislature.
