Biography

Wendy Ullman (born July 29, 1952) is an American politician. She is affiliated with the Democratic Party and has represented Pennsylvania House of Representatives district 143 since 2018. Before assuming office she was an English professor at Bucks County Community College and Montgomery County Community College.

Legislation

HB 1322: Implementing a Beverage Bottle and Can Deposit Program in Pennsylvania

Ullman Introduced HB 1322 on April 29, 2019. This legislation would implement a 5 cent beverage deposit fee, which would be returned to the consumer upon the return of the bottle. The intent of the legislation is to increase the rates of recycling in Pennsylvania. Unclaimed bottle deposit reimbursements would be forfeited to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and be put towards the Hazardous Sites Clean-Up fund.

HB 1753: Firearms Safety Training Package

This legislation, introduced to the Pennsylvania House on August 16, 2019, would require Pennsylvanians to complete six weeks of firearms safety training prior to purchasing his or her first firearm or receiving a conceal carry permit.
